About

I am a native of Polk County and I’ve seen the area evolve over the last 60 years.  I know a lot about the history of the area and have good insight in what is going on, as well as what seems logical to come next. I was raised to know the value of hard work and I feel very fortunate to still be part of this great rural community and therefore I have a lifetime of experience with the people and places that make Polk County such a great place to live, work, and play.  Growing up, my family farmed about 5 acres of vegetables annually and so I’m also in tune with the agricultural impact of our area.  I attended UNC-Asheville from 1984 – 1989, where I received a BS degree in Healthcare Administration.  In 1992, I married my husband Pete and we’ve made our home in the Lynn community of Tryon where we raised our two daughters, Emery and Haley.  I have 16 years of administrative experience in the local healthcare field, which reflects greatly in my customer service and organizational skills. Quality assurance and risk management were always a big part of my responsibilities in the 12 years at St. Luke’s Hospital.

In 2004, I changed careers and joined the family business of real estate, (Tryon Foothills Realty) in order to have a more flexible schedule while our children were active in school and other extracurricular activities. I have served as a board member of the Henderson County Board of Realtors for 6 years, and prior to that, I service on the Tryon/Polk Board of Realtors for 8 years. In 2012, I was originally appointed by the Polk County Commissioners to serve on the Economic Development and Tourism Commission where continue to gain great insight about the needs and future direction of Polk County. In addition, I am very active in the Tryon Downtown Development Association and am proud to serve on the Tryon Fire District Tax Commission. Real Estate gives me the opportunity to stay in touch with what’s going on in all parts of our county and allows me the privilege to be an ambassador for our great area!  I am a full-time broker and look forward to helping you buy and sell and explore, in the Polk County, NC area!
